Owen McKenna failed to retain his Antrim Senior singles title going down in two games to Ricky McCann of Gortnamona. The first game was a tight affair with Owen going down 21-17. However the second was all Ricky as he raced to an emphatic 21-5 win to regain the title.
Kevin McParland and Stephen Brady failed in their quest for Antrim glory against Kieran O’Hare and Tony Devlin of O’Donnells. The Davitt pair started brightly and raced into an early 11-2 lead. Despite this promising lead, the O’Donnells boys dug deep to claw their way back into the opener and eventually edged it 21-18.
The second was one way traffic as Kieran O’Hare played kill shot after kill shot and although Kevin and Stephen hung in they were outclassed 21-5. Congratulations to the O’Donnell’s boys and hopefully the Davitts pairing can gain revenge in the Ulster Championship.
