The senior footballers maintained their promising run of form with an excellent win over Dun Laithí at Páirc Mhic Dháibhéid.
Both teams traded point for point in the opening 10 minutes with our scores coming from Michael Connolly and a fisted point from Marcas Toner to tie the game at 0-2. The first goal of the game came in the 15th minute; the ball was worked down the right side of the pitch, crossed across the edge of the small square and the on running CJ Sullivan finished to the net. We extended our lead further when goalkeeper Aaron Slane slotted over a point from a long range free, before three consecutive points from Dun Laithí left the minimum between the sides at the break 1-3 to 0-5.
We took the initiative from the restart with Ryan Park, Chris Rafferty (0-2) and Deaglan Mooney all on target with points to extend our advantage. Dun Laithí hit back with a brace of points to leave them a goal in arrears. However, from here, we enjoyed a dominant period with points from CJ Sullivan and Marcas Toner, before Marcas took possession of the ball, raced past his man and dispatched it to the net. Dun Laithí gave themselves a glimmer of hope with a goal on 23 minutes and followed up with a point to half the deficit, but two further Chris Rafferty points gave us a comfortable lead. With Dun Laithí kicking the last point of the game our good run continues on a winning score of 2-11 to 1-9.
