The senior reserve footballers went down by the minimum margin against Na Sáirseil in a highly entertaining game at the Bear Pit.
While scores were at a premium, both sides played good attacking football but were guilty of some missed scoring opportunities in front of goal. Na Sáirseil edged the first half but points from from Brady Maguire, Oskar Deevy and Jay Maguire ensured we were still in the game at the break trailing 0-5 to 0-3.
The second half was something similar with both teams kicking point for point with the Maguire brothers and elder statesman Sean Óg Prenter on target but Na Sáirseil maintained their 2 point advantage. We gave it one final push and levelled with time almost up (Brady Maguire and Sean Óg) and the game looked to be destined for the draw but Na Sáirseil launched one final attack which resulted in a well taken point to earn them the victory 0-9 to 0-8 at the final whistle.
