The senior footballers had a hard fought draw away to St Brigids at a sun drenched Musgrave Park. Despite the warm conditions both teams served up some quality and nail biting football. We started the game smartly and St Brigids were on the defensive from the throw in. We deservedly open up a six point advantage and were well on top but once St Brigids got on the scoreboard it seemed to settle them into a better rhythm. They clawed their way back into the game and as half time approached we held a two point lead, but a point deep into first half stoppage reduced our lead to the minimum 1-6 to 1-5.
The second half was nip and tuck as both teams worked tirelessly to gain the upper hand. We extended our advantage, St Brigids fought back, they went in front, we fought back. In a contest that went from end to end the final whistle saw the teams level 3-11 to 3-11.
