This was a game between two unbeaten sides, both looking to preserve their 100% record and it was Ard Eoin who came out on top in a fiercely contested game at Fennell Park, winning by an eight points margin.
We opened brightly with a Caoimhin Heaney point following a nice lay off from Deaglan Mooney but Ard Eoin replied with three well executed points, one from a free. Colm McKee reduced the deficit with a point from wide out on the left side of the pitch but another Ard Eoin point and a goal by Dean Goodall put them in the ascendency. Michael Lismore fired over a nice point and after another Ard Eoin point he found the back of the net. A Deaglan Mooney point from a 20 metre free reduced the lead to one but it was Ardoyne who held the upper hand at the break 1-8 to 0-7 as they tagged on three points, with two coming from well taken frees.

We tried to raise the tempo of the game in the second half but Ard Eoin stood firm and resolute, however a moments lapse in concentration allowed us back into the game as Chris Cunningham goaled. However, we failed to push on and Ard Eoin kept chipping away with points from frees and play to maintain their advantage. A McVicker goal gave them the added momentum and impetus to see the game out and points from Jay Maguire, Stephen McGivern 0-2 and Micheal Lismore were merely consolation as Ard Eoin ran out deserved winners 2-16 to 2-8.
Scorers: Caoimhin Heaney 0-1, Colm McKee 0-1, Michael Lismore 1-2, Deaglan Mooney 0-1, Chris Cunningham 1-0, Jay Maguire 0-1 and stephen McGivern 0-2.
