The senior hurlers secured their first win of the league campaign with a hard fought win over St Agnes’ at Woodlands. Both teams traded further points with another from Stephen McGivern and Canice Mooney getting off the mark to tie the game at 0-6. We finished the half the stronger with Stephen McGivern firing over his sixth point of the half and Canice Mooney his second to give us the lead at the break 0-8 to 1-3.
Two quick fire points from St Agnes’ at the start of the second half levelled the game, but the trusty Stephen McGivern restored our advantage with a pointed free. St Agnes levelled the game with a point before we hit our best patch of the game with a Canice Mooney goal and three Stephen McGivern points to lead by six.
