Beringer Cup – Sarsfields 0-10 Davitts 2-12

The senior footballers progressed to the semi-final stages of the Beringer Cup with a hard earned win over Sarsfields on Sunday. The first half  was a tight affair with our first three points, all frees from Liam McGivern tying the game at 3 points each. We then kicked three points in a row from Jake O’Rawe, Anto McGrattan and Padraig McParland before Sarsfields responded with three points of their own to leave the game tied at 0-6 at half time.

We turned in the second half with the aid of the wind, but two early Sarsfields points put us on the back foot. However, we responded well and playing some nice football went on a scoring spree, kicking 2-6 without reply. Pearse McAuley kicked 2-1, Padraig McParland 0-4 and Daniel Largey 0-1. Two Sarsfields points at the death left the final score Sarsfields 0-10, Davitts 2-12.

This was a step up on last weeks performance and we will need to raise the barrier further when we take on St Galls this Sunday at Milltown at 6.30pm in the semi-final.
