IFC – Gp2 – Rd2 – Dun Laithí 4-11 Mac Dáibhéid 0-6

The senior footballers were well beaten by an excellent Dun Laithí team in this Round 2 encounter of the IFC. The North Antrim men were defensively solid and attacked in waves and droves at high pace causing us all sorts of problems, while kicking some exquisite scores.

We started well with an early pointed free from Stephen Tully putting us in front, however we never got any foothold in the game and from there on we struggled to contain the Dun Laithí rampant attacks. At the break we trailed 0-2 to 2-7 with our only other score coming from Padraig McParland.

A Dun Laithí goal at the start of the second half virtually ended the game as a contest but despite being on the defensive we still battled hard and added further points from Gerard Slane, Niall Hughes and Padraig McParland (0-2) but on the night Dun Laithí deserved their win on a score of 0-6 to 4-11.
