JBHC Semi-Final – Mac Dáibhéid 2-17 Naomh Úna 0-7

The senior hurlers booked their place in the final of the JBHC with a good win over Naomh Úna at Pairc Mac Dáibhéid on Tuesday night.

Playing with the assistance of the breeze in the first half we established a seven point advantage with points from Chris Gallagher (0-3), Stephen McGivern (0-2) Thomas Maguire and Gearoid Cosgrove. Naomh Úna got on the scoreboard with two points from converted frees but a Cormac Maguire goal following good work from Anthony Rowntree and points from Stephen McGivern (0-2) and Jay Park extended our lead. Another brace of points from frees for Naomh Úna were cancelled out with Peter Carleton and Chris Gallagher striking points. The half concluded with a well taken point from Gearoid Cosgrove and another Aggies pointed free to leave was in front 1-13 to 0-5.

We continued to dominate in the second half but against the breeze we managed the game well, tagging on scores and snuffing out any threat Naomh Úna posed. Scores from Peter Carleton (0-2), Stephen McGovern (0-2) and Cormac Maguire’s second goal of the game saw us over the finishing line 2-17 to 0-7.
