The three point winning margin does not do justice in terms of this performance. Without doubt this was our best display of football so far this season. We created many scoring opportunities and with better finishing at stages would have been in front a half time by six or seven points. However, we went in at the break with a single point lead following scores from Collie O’Riordan 1-1, Ciaran O’Riordan 0-1, Gerard Burns 0-1 and Daniel Largey 0-1.
We started well in the second half and points from Gerard Burns and Collie O’Riordan gave us a three point leave. We were well in control but Rossa were then awarded a penalty and from the spot kick they levelled the game. We responded with a Gerard Burns free but Rossa hit back with two points to take the lead. From here we could have caved in but we kept our shape and played attacking football. Two well struck Gerard Burns frees and another Collie O’Riordan point gave us a two point advantage and with time running out Sean O’Neill finished a fine move with a well taken point to secure the points and give us a deserved win and two much needed points.
