This was a really tight game until the final 15 minutes when the home side asserted and finished the game stronger to take the spoils.
Deaglan Mooney scored after 6 minutes when he evaded the Naomh Seosamh defence to pop over the first point. Caoimhin Slane kicked our second point, after a couple of blocks by the home side and when the ball spilled to him he made no mistake and we followed up with another point from a Gerard Slane free in front of the goals. It took Naomh Seosamh 13 minutes to get their first score of the game and it came courtesy of a well worked goal to level the game. The sides exchanged further points with our scores coming from Gerard Slane after a pinpoint lay off from Anthony Rowntree and CJ Sullivan after a solo run from deep inside his own half. The home side finished the half with two points to edge a point advantage at the break 1-3 to 0-5.
We were level within a minute of the restart when CJ Sullivan kicked a point of the outside of his boot and after a further exchange of points (CJ again), Gerard Slane pointed following quick movement of the ball through hands and Caoimhin Slane gave us a two point advantage with a finish from 30 yards, central to the posts. Naomh Seosamh rallied at this stage kicking seven consecutive points, including one 2 pointer, to lead by five in the 25th minute. We responded with a CJ Sullivan point from a free but a late goal put the gloss on the score for the home side and a seven point win, 2-11 to 0-10.
