The U16 Footballers progressed to the semi-final stage of the U16 football championship with a hard fought victory over St Agnes at Woodlands. It was a tight game with the Aggies holding a point advantage at half time 1-3 to 0-5.
St Agnes started the second half brightly knocking over 1-1 without reply to extend their advantage to five points. However, as the half progressed we upped the tempo and played some nice football. A goal and two points levelled the game and with both teams pushing for the winner the referee blew his whistle for full time to send the game into extra time.
We controlled the period of extra time and two well executed points were enough to put us through to the semi-final on a score of 2-4 to 1-9. Well done to the players and management.
