ACFL Div 2 Rasharkin 4-12 Davitts 1-11

We travelled to Rasharkin, severly understrength, missing nine regulars and the final score does not do justice for the effort we put into the game. Rasharkin after a shaky start got into their stride and showed why they sit on top of the table with a rasping strike to the net for their first goal followed by a point to lead 1-1 to no score. Stephen Toner then got us on the soreboard board with two 21 yard frees but Rasharkin assisted with a strong breeze continued to pick of long range points. We responded with points from Daniel Largey and Stephen Toner to go in at half time down by 1-8 to 0-4.Despite putting up stern resistance in the second half we were unable to stop a fast moving Rasharkin side who hit three cracking goals but we did look polished at times with scores from Kevin Maxwell, (first of his career), Sean Smith (0-3), Sean McGovern, Liam McGivern, Stephen Toner and Fra McCabe chipping in with points a piece but we could never get close enough to put Rasharkin under pressure.Rasharkin ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-12 to 1-11.
