A Sean O’Neill 50 yard free with a minute of normal time left was enough to give us a one point victory against Aghagallon and move us to seven points in the league. We started brightly, playing open and attacking football and led 0-4 to 0-1 following two frees from Stephen Toner and a point a piece from Gerard Burns and Paul McGivern. Aghagallon came back strongly with a goal and two points to go ahead but points from centre half back Gary Nelson and another free from Stephen Toner levelled the game. The first half finished with an Aghagallon free resulting in a score to leave the score Davitts 0-6 Aghagallon 1-4.We started the second half as we did the first with points from Sean O’Neill and two from Stephen Toner. However, Aghagallon hit back again with their second goal of the game followed by two points putting them three in front. We replied with a goal from Sean O’Neill, he took a 45 and the ball dropped in over the keepers head to level the game. This gave us the impetus to go on and we fired over three points , two more for Stephen Toner and one for Anthony McGrattan. At this stage we appeared to have secured the points but Aghagallon hit back with three points to level the game. With time almost up Sean O’Neill came to the rescue with his long range winner. This was a much improved performance and one we throughly deserved. We showed plenty of committment and positive attitude, played excellent football at times and if we can take this form forward we should be difficult to beat.Best for Davitts were Gary Nelson in defense, Gavin Shaw who had an oustanding second half, Sean O’Neill and top scorer Stephen Toner.D O’Neill, M Rowntree, G Rowntree, N McCleave, P McGivern (0-1), G Nelson (0-1), K Maxwell, G Shaw, C O’Riordan, S O’Neill (1-2), S Smith, S Toner (0-7), A McGrattan (0-1) G Burns (0-1), J Kearney. Subs: J McDonell for J Kearney
