The senior hurlers lost away to Creggan on Friday night. We played with the breeze in the first half but were unable to build up a half time advantage. Creggan put us under a lot of pressure and their blocking was outstanding. However at the half time whistle thanks to scores from Canice Mooney 0-4 and Stephen McGivern 0-1 we only trailed by a point.Â
The second half saw us level at 0-7 each, Â with a further two Canice Mooney
points but Creggan then responded with six unanswered points. At this stage we needed a goal to get back into the game and we got it from Rory McEvoy who blasted the sliotar past the Creggan keeper to reduce the deficit to a goal. However, Creggan restored their six point advantage with three quick fire points to kill off the game. Our final point of the game came from a long range Stephen McGivern effort with Creggan pointing from a free to leave them winners by six. Click here for photos of the game.
