The senior hurlers recovered from a heavy loss on Sunday evening at home to Glenravel to record a well deserved win away to Ballyvarley last night.
It was backs against the wall as we came up against a very good Glenravel outfit and on the evening they were well worth their win, 4-16 to 1-2 with our scores from Stephen Toner 1-0, and points from Paul Morgan and Christy McNally.
On Wednesday night we had the right response with a comprehensive win over Ballyvarley 1-17 to 1-3. We were very strong all over the pitch and despite wet conditions we adapted well. We were sharp in front of goal picking off many nice scores, while defensively we were solid snuffing out any threat that Ballyvarley threw at us. Scores came from Sean Smith 1-0, Canice Mooney 0-9, Stephen Toner 0-3, Alan Rainey 0-3 and Chris Gallagher 0-2.
We had great performances, all over the pitch and everyone deserves praise and credit for the effort and commitment they put in to get the win, however a couple of  players deserve a special mention, Alan Rainey who worked tirelessly all night all over the pitch, not only for his 0-3 but according to the statisticians this was the first full game he has completed in many years and young Chris Gallagher who has joined the senior ranks and got himself two points.
