On Saturday 19th we were invited to a P3/4 hurling blitz at Tir Na Nog. The other participating teams were Tir Na Nog, Loch Mor Gaels and St Endas. We played Tir Na Nog in the first game and started off sharp with everyone committed to the challenge coming out the winners in this game. In the second game St Endas were the opponents and we took it up another level with our young hurlers showing all the skills to get another win. The last game was against Loch Mor Gaels, a very young team and we finished with our third victory.
Just a word from a Tir Na Nog mentor on our young hurlers, he commended the standard of hurling displayed. Conor McCann, Antrim senior hurler was also in attendance and gave a nice speech and displayed Creggan’s All Ireland trophy which the kids thought was our trophy to keep, maybe in the future. As we take our young Davitt hurlers out to these venues it is very rewarding to see the skills displayed, so to all the mentors, who have supported these kids well done. Lastly, thanks to Tir na Nog for the invite to the blitz and to the parents who attended.
