U8 Trip to Dublin

Yesterday, our U8 young gaels had their first ever visit to Croke Park for the Leinster final between Galway and Kilkenny.

Teams Pic 1On the road early, we stopped off at our friends, St Marks GAA club in Dublin for games in both codes. First up the hurlers, who with great skill and commitment played very well. Even during the sporadic showers the kids hurled away leaving nothing on the pitch.

After a timely break, it was the footballers turn to shine. For such a young age, the teams displayed great confidence with the bigger ball, with no one letting up until the final whistle. The games were very competitive and both clubs will take confidence that the future is bright.

St Marks then provided a lovely meal for everyone and presented us with a beautiful memento to capture the day’s event. A kind gesture which along with their hospitality on the day was appreciated by everyone representing our club.

Next stop was headquarters for the Leinster final. The kids were divided on who they wanted to win and all who cheered on the Cats to victory let their friends who supported the Tribesmen know who had won the game.

crokeNot a sad face though as these youngsters were excited and amazed to be in such a big arena, helping to make it a special club day out.

I hope everyone enjoyed the games and the main event, with great memories for the future.
