Underage Hurling Update

Last weekend our young Davitt’s hurlers competed in three tournaments. On Saturday our young P2/3 kids were at Andersonstown Leisure Centre where we played in a P4 go games. While at times it was a step up for our children they competed admirably and were never overawed and showed great determination.

The U10 kids were at Ballymena and St Malachys in the North Antrim indoor blitz. Both teams went undefeated in their respective leagues and the skill level was there for all to see. Without knowing the final league standings which will be soon communicated I believe both teams finished 2nd in their groups of 8 which is an outstanding achievement.

Finally we travelled to the Eddie Irvine indoor centre for our annual event in Bangor. We fielded three teams of P2/3/4 and the children competed excellently in every game displaying a very high standard of hurling which belied theirs young age. It definitely was a weekend of hurling and our young hurlers showed that our future is very bright.

Thanks to all the mentors and all the parents as always.
