The U16s made it three wins from three outings when beating O’Donnells at Boucher Road on Thursday night. We started brightly and quickly raced into a 0-5 to 0-0 lead with points from D Wilson, P McParland, C Park, A Slane and P McAuley. O’Donnells then responded with a goal and a point to reduce the deficit before P McAuley powered through the O’Donnells defense and kicked over two excellent points. O’Donnells came back again with a point which was cancelled by a P McParland point to give us a three point lead. However on the stroke of half time O’Donnells hit another goal to leave the score tied 0-8 to 2-2.
The second half was all one way traffic as we picked up the pace of the game and created many scoring chances. We added 1-11 to O’Donnells solitary point with our scores coming from, D Wilson 0-4, P McAuley 1-2, P McParland 0-2, N Hughes 0-1, B Clark 0-1 and J Haughey 0-1. Our next game game is away to Lamh Dearg who will no doubt provide a stiff cahllenge so it is important that we show the same grit and determination that we showed particularly in the second half.
