The senior hurlers secured their first win of the season when beating O’Donnells at McCrory Park on Sunday. At half time it looked nailed on that we would win the game comprehensively as we led 0-14 to 0-2. However, O’Donnells staged a determined fightback in the second half and at the end of the game we were hanging on for the three point win.
We made great use of the strong wind in the first half and stroked over many
fine points with Gary Dunlop 0-3, Canice Mooney 0-7, Michael Brady 0-1, Sean Prenter 0-2 and Gerry O’Neill 0-1 all getting on the score sheet. The second half was a total reversal as we struggled against the wind and could only manage 0-2 from Canice Mooney while O’Donnells hit 2-5. Despite this we are now up and running and it is important that everyone gets to training, on Thursday night,  in preparation for our next game against McDermotts.
