The senior footballers winning streak came to an end at Mallusk today when an injury time point secured the win for Ardoyne. Â We trailed by a point at half time 0-8 to 0-7 despite having early success and leading by three at one stage. Our first half scores came from Ciaran O’Riordan 0-4, Gerard Burns 0-1, Liam McGivern 0-1 and Peter Carleton 0-1.
We opened up a four point advantage in the second half  but never pushed on when we were in control of the game and a converted Ardoyne penalty got them right back into the game. From there on it was point for point with Ardoyne getting the vital point well into injury time to claim the win. Our second half scorers were Liam McGivern 0-1, Jay Close 0-1, Daniel Largey 1-1, Gerard Burns 0-1, Ciaran O’Riordan 0-1 and Aaron Slane 0-1.
The next game is on Wednesday night away to St Comhghalls with a 7.30pm throw in.
