On Sunday past, we gathered in the club lounge to bid farewell to Fr. Michael Murtagh, a great friend of the Club during his time as Chaplain in Clonard Monastery.
Before the folk music got under way, Tommy and Bobby Shaw made a presentation to Fr Mick on behalf of the club, as tributes were paid to Fr Mick for all the tireless help and support he provided to families, the club and community.
He was still required to perform one last duty himself, when proudly bedecked in his beloved Longford Jersey, he made the 2014 senior footballer and hurler of the year presentations to Daniel Largey and Liam McHugh .
We wish him well.
