ACFL Div 2 – Mac Dáibhéid 0-7 Naomh Treasa 0-15

The senior footballers were hoping to build on their much improved performance in their previous league game, away to Pádraig Sáirseil when taking on Naomh Treasa at Páirc Mhic Dháibhéid. Unfortunately, we did not live up to the expectations and the Glen Road men ran out comfortable winners.

We were always changing the game as Naomh Treasa kicked the opening four points (2fs) before Caoimhe Slane opened our account with a well taken point. Naomh Treasa extended their lead with the first of their 2 pointers, coming from a well executed kick off the outside of the boot. We then enjoyed a brief spell of possession when we closed the deficit to the minimum with points from Caoimhe Slane (0-3) and Anthony Rowntree. Another 2 pointer from Naomh Treasa closed the first half scoring and we went in at the break 0-5 to 0-8.

Within the opening 2 minutes of the restart Naomh Treasa had added 3 points to their tally, including their third 2 pointer. We responded with a brace of points from Caoimhe Slane frees but Naomh Treasa were comfortable and controlled in possession and with the addition of 4 points ran out winners 0-7 to 0-15 and we still await that elusive first league win.
