The senior footballers came up short in their second game following the league split away to Naomh Pól at Shaws Road.
We started brightly and led after 5 minutes with two points from CJ Sullivan. However, Naomh Pól took control of the game as they kicked 1-4 with their goal coming from a lobbed shot from 40 yards which sailed over the head of the back-tracking Aaron Slane. We responded well and were back on level terms after 22 minutes with a well taken goal and a Padraig McParland point. A further exchange of points, Padraig adding to his tally, had the sides level again but Naomh Pól finished the half stronger, tagging on 3 points to lead 1-7 to 0-7.
Naomh Pól opened the second half scoring with a long range point but points from Aaron Slane and Chris Rafferty reduced the deficit to two. Naomh Pól restored their goal advantage but two points from Padraig McParland left one between the sides. However, Naomh Pól kicked their second goal to stop us in our tracks but we refused to give in adding points from Chris Rafferty (f) and Padraig McParland. Naomh Pól upped their effort again with a point but the killer blow was their third goal giving them a comfortable 6 point advantage with time almost up. A Gerard Slane point from a free brought the game to conclusion with Naomh Pól winners 3-10 to 1-11.
