Despite losing  this Division 4 encounter the overall performance was pleasing as we battled all over the pitch and put in a sterling hours hurling.  We had great individual performances from Micael O’Brien, Stephen McGivern, and Michael Rowntree  but the ever green Martin Mooney stood out on the night with an outstanding performance. This culminated in a great team effort and we gave St Endas no space to play nice hurling.
At half time we trailed by four 0-4 to 1-5 Â with the St Enda’s goal coming late in the half, and probably one that we should have prevented. The second half was as tight with both teams going for broke but despite our best endeavours we just couldn’t claw back the deficit. Stephen McGivern top scored with 0-7 with Michael Rowntree getting his first point of the season.
Overall this was a very positive performance but we must emphasise that we need to up our training, with another session this Sunday at Boucher Road at 12.30pm.
