McDermotts took a step closer to the league title with a five point win over the Senior hurlers at the Falls Park on Saturday afternoon. We were missing several key players from the side that had accounted for the Macs in the championship but despite this we were well in the game until the final ten minutes.
We conceded goals at crucial times particularly when we were on top and these were to be our downfall in the end. We had oustanding performances from Eugene Gallagher and Gerard McNally in the back line while Canice Mooney top scored with 1-6.
We have two home games left against Creggan and St Brigids. Let’s home we can finish with two wins to cap of a long hard season.
