Davitts 4-15 Ardoyne 1-1
Our first All County Division 4 B fixture resulted in a resounding victory over Ardoyne at Boucher Road last Wednesday. It was a game of two halves – we played against a strong breeze in the first restricting Ardoyne to 1-1 while managing to register 1-3 ourselves with scores from Paul McGivern 1-1, and Anton McCaffrey 0-2.
The second half was all one way traffic as we bombarded the Ardoyne goal. Anton McCaffrey turned in a splendid performance notching 2-6 in the second half, all from play, giving him a personal tally of 2-8, Paul McGivern added to his first half scores to finish with 2-3, Sean Smith notched 0-4 and Gearoid Cosgrove got the score of the match when he split the posts with an eighty yard strike. With Ardoyne failing to added to their total we ran out winners on a score of 4-15 to 1-1.
