Today’s Sunday Life has an article in it, linking a married couple from opposite sides of the world to our wee club.
Ulster rugby player Bronson Ross (who hails from New Zealand) and his wife Leanne recently discovered that their grandfathers both played on the same team in the 50s/60s.
The men in question were Jimmy McGeown (who emigrated to New Zealand) and Bobby Reilly, who himself went on to become a club stalwart and chairman.
Still involved with the club today, current Cathaoirleach Tommy Shaw, along with his brother Bobby, Gunner Brady, Jackie Toner and Joe de Meul all played on the same team.
