U10 North Down Indoor Hurling Go Games

imageOn Sunday morning the young Davitts U10 hurlers made the trip to Bangor for the North Down go games in the Eddie Irvine Centre.  We started slowly and were beaten in our first group game against Brid Og, however this was followed up with a win against O Donnells as we started to play with purpose. We then had a good tough battle with Portaferry B and won narrowly, 2 great goals by Jamie and Odhran. Last in the group was St Johns and this was the game of the day, the intensity and commitment of both teams was a joy to watch and all mentors commended both teams. Unfortunately we lost but maybe a draw would have reflected the play.

We then played 2 games outside of the group format and beat St Paul’s Holywood and Liatroim. On the day Anthony Quinn was exceptional in goals, Sean Hyndman was a rock at the back and Jamie McNally committed in the middle but in all everyone played their part and contributed to a great day’s hurling.

Progress at this level is very evident on the the performances we have been showing at this tournament this year, this is our third appearance this year and can only bode well for their development.

Team: O Hesketh, S Hyndman, O Gorman, J McNally, J Maguire, A Quinn, B Maguire.
