The U14 footballers got another win in this league encounter at Musgrave. We played some nice free flowing football in the first half and controlled the game. It was St Brigids who opened the scoring with a well taken point before a five point scoring blitz C Park 0-1, C Slane 0-1, M Bradley 0-1, P McParland 0-1, and C Moreland 0-1 gave us a four point advantage. Two C Slane goals in the space of three minutes extended the adavantage and with further points from P McParland 0-1 and C Moreland 0-2 we were in a comfortable position on 2-8 to 0-1. With the game entering injury time a St Brigids goal reduced the deficit and left the half time score 2-8 to 1-1 in our favour.
We started the second half brightly with another P McParland point, C Slane getting his third goal and M Bradley notching a goal to virtually put the match to bed. However from this position our game became a bit scrappy. We were guilty of being wasteful in front of goal and St Brigids punished our misses by scoring 1-7 without reply. Nonetheless it was an effective performance and two deserved points on a final score of 2-7 to 4-9.
