The senior hurlers made amends for their earlier defeat to Carryduff in the Ulster Hurling League with a comprehensive victory at Carryduff on Saturday. This was a totally different performance to the one which saw us drop two points to them at home. We hassled and pressurised them all over the park and virtually gave them no scoring opportunities with their sole point of the first half coming from a free. We utilised the ball well and playing into a strong breeze led at half time 0-5 to 0-1 with scores coming from Canice Mooney 0-2, M Mooney 0-1, P McGivern 0-1 and G Dunlop 0-1.
We opened up in the second half with an Anton McCaffrey goal coming straight from the throw-in. This virtually ended the game as a contest as we picked off points at will. Canice Mooney 0-2, Martin Mooney 0-2, Sean Smith 0-1 and Anton McCaffrey 0-5 added to our tally with a solitary point from a free Carryduff ‘s only reply.
Scorers: Anton McCaffrey 1-5, Canice Mooney 0-4, Martin Mooney 0-3, Paul McGivern 0-1, Sean Smith 0-1, G Dunlop 0-1
