Ulster Masters B Singles Semi-Finals

Joe Murphy qualified for the final of the 2006 Masters B Singles handball with a fine win over Down’s Sean McNally. He was in total control of the match and with many fine kill shots took the first game to 12. He started well in the second racing into a commanding lead only for Sean to strike back. The match went close at 15-12 for Joe but his superior shot making stood him in good stead and he went on to take the second to 12 and a place in the final.In the final he will face Raymond Leonard from Monaghan who defeated Stephen Brady in a hard fought three game semi. This was a long drawn out affair with both players out on their feet at the end of an entertaining match. Raymond triumphed 21-7, 19-21 21-7 and the final with Joe looks like being a tight and even contest.
