Juvenile Update – Week Commencing 9 May 2011

Under 8 and Under 10
The young Davitts Primary 5 team made a very gallant effort at the prestigious May Day tournament at Milltown. Despite being a few key players short, they made it through the group stage, then beat St John’s in the quarter final, only to be pipped by St Brigid’s in the semi-final. Well done to all concerned and a special mention to Padraig Robinson who was playing in his fourth May Day tournament in succession – he was a very young starter and is a great prospect for the club.
Following challenge games against Gortnamona for both age groups on Sunday 8 May, there will be either coaching or a game this Sunday, 15 May at Grosvenor commencing at 11am. Any clubs interested in challenge games at under 8 and/or under 10, please contact Anthony Robinson on 07900303590. Davitts will host these games at Grosvenor any Sunday morning.

Under 12 Football
League resumes this Friday 13 May with a game against St Galls at Milltown, throw-in, 6.30pm.
Under 14 Football
Davitts threw away a good half-time lead last Tuesday against St Galls, going down by 4 points in the end. This week they hope to bounce back with a game against Rossa at Boucher Road, throw-in 6.30pm, Tuesday 10 May.
Under 16 Football
The Under 16s continued their unbeaten run with an emphatic win over St Agnes/Eire Óg last week and travel to Cliftonville to play Pearses on Thursday 12 May, throw-in 6.30pm.
Minor Football
The Minors fielded an understrength team against St Paul’s last week but fair play to the lads who turned up and despite a real effort in the second period, ran out on the wrong side of the result. Hopefully, most of the players will be back this week for the League game against Eire Óg at Boucher on Tuersday 10 May, throw-in 7.30pm.
