Our reign as Beringer Cup holders came to an end when we lost to St Galls, in the semi-final,  at St Teresas on Wednesday night.  St Galls stamped their authority on the game from the first whistle and raced into a five point lead before a Gerard Burns pointed free got us on the scoreboard. The match then levelled out as both teams traded points to take the score to 1-5 to 0-4 in St Galls favour. Our scores came from Ryan Rooney, Colm McAuley and Gerard Burns. On the stroke of half time St Galls had a great goal opportunity but Michael Brady got down to his right to turn the ball away from the goals.
An early St Galls goal in the second half killed of the game but we battled hard and had a lot of possession. However, we failed to convert this possession into meaningful scores and St Galls held on to win by five. Our second half scores came from Kevin Hughes, Ryan Rooney and Anto McGrattan.
