The U16 footballers enjoyed an emphatic win over Lamh Dhearg in a top of the table clash at Boucher Road last Thursday night. We started the game at a high tempo and raced into a six point advantage with points from P McAuley 0-2, P McParland 0-3, and C Park 0-1 before a Lamh Dhearg pointed free got them on the scoreboard. We responded with further points from P McAuley 0-2 and D Wilson 0-2 and with Lamh Dhearg getting the last point of the half we held a comprehensive lead 0-10 to 0-2.
Lamh Dhearg opened the second half scoring with two points before D
Wilson got his third point of the game and a brace of points from B Collins gave us a nine point advantage. However Lamh Dhearg reduced the deficit to five with a goal and a point. These were to be Lamh Dhearg’s last scores of the game as we hit 1-4 without reply with young L Ives getting the goal and the points coming from C Moreland 0-1, P McParland 0-2 and C Park 0-1.
We had good performances all over the pitch with everyone working for each other in a determined manner to ensure that we opened up an advantage at the top of the league. Click here for photos of the game.
