On Saturday afternoon our U12 hurlers travelled to the Meadowbank Sports Centre, Magherafelt for an U12 Ulster blitz. This was our first outing at this tournament as we start to integrate our U12s into all competitions.
We started off with a win against Sean Stintons with Caoimhin Heaney and Marcas Toner scoring. Next up was St Endas B and goal from Caoimhin and Marcas secured the win. The last 2 games of the day were against Rossa A and Bredagh A and despite losing we battled hard to the end and the commitment could not be faulted. The last play of the day was a Marcas Toner penalty which he placed into the top corner.
Best on the day were Conor Christie in goals putting his body on the line repeatedly, Finn McCotter at the back, gerard Power a colossal in the middle and Caoimhin and Marty Woods for their skill and effort.
This team have another year at this level, so a lot of positives can be taken from today and it was well worth the journey.
