ACHL Div 3 – Lamh Dhearg 1-22 Mac Dáibhéid 2-10

The senior hurlers led at the half time interval by a point but struggled to pick up the tempo in the second half and the Hannahstown men finished stronger to take the spoils.

Lamh Dhearg started well with the opening three points but we were soon back on level terms with points from Michael Rowntree, Marcas Toner and Chris Gallagher. Both teams traded point for point with Colm McKee and Stephen McGivern on target. Lamh Dhearg edged into the lead before Michael Rowntree played a long pass to Marcas Toner who finished to the net and then extended our lead to a goal with another point. However, Lamh Dhearg regrouped, picking off the points and chipping away to take the lead 0-12 to 1-6. We responded with Marcas Toner second goal and points from Anthony Rowntree and Stephen McGivern. The final score of the half came from Lamh Dhearg leaving us a point in front 0-13 to 2-8.

We struggled to get to the same tempo in the second half and were firmly on the back foot as Lamh Dhearg took control of the game. They quickly built up a commanding advantage, striking 1-9 while we could only manage two points from Stephen McGivern and Marcas Toner to leave them winners 1-22 to 2-10.
