The senior footballers progressed to the semi- final of the Beringer cup with a well deserved win over Lamh Dearg at Boucher Road last Thursday. It wasn’t the best of evenings for a match as it rained continuously throughout the game but we adapted well to the wet conditions and played some lovely football. A McGrattan opened the scoring with a well taken point which was quickly followed by a L Boyce goal. However Lamh Dearg bounced back with a goal and a point of their own before we started to take control of the game. Points from G Burns 0-2, S McGovern 0-1, B McGovern 0-1, and goals from S O’ Neill and L Boyce put is well in front and a Lamh Dearg point left  the half time score 3-5 to 1-2.
We kept Lamh Dearg scoreless in the second half and young J Close got on the score sheet with a fine individual effort. Further scores came from S McGovern 1-1 and L McGivern 0-2 Â to see us progress to the 21st June semi-final clash with McDermotts.
