First League Win for Girl’s U12

On Tuesday 2 May our girl’s under 12 team made the long journey down to Moneyglass looking for our first league win. After a long hard fought match against a capable side we came away with the points. Although we led for most of the match we were never able to put the hosts out of sight and it took a last minute goal from the terrific Leontia McVarnock to give us a two point winning margin.On the night we had many great performances, Chloe Duffy scored 4 goals and 2 points, Shannon Webb grabbed a goal and a point while in defense Megan Downey and Demi McVarnock played well.The most pleasing aspect was our overall team performance and the commitment from all the players. The match ended Davitts 6-3 Moneyglass 4-7. Let’s hope the under 14 girls can repeat the feat when they take on the same opposition on Thursday night.
