This Sunday (1st March), the competitve season gets under way with three knock-out cup competitions getting under way.
For age groups U12 up to and including Minor, we have amalgamated with St. Teresa’s and these four age groups will play under the banner of Belfast Saffrons.
The parent clubs are in discussion with O’Neills to acquire a new kit, which will be in the County Colours (not a surprise, given the amalgamation team name) but it will include the new club badge.
Until the new kit is ready, the teams will rotate the parent club colours.
The first Belfast Saffrons team to take the field will be the U14 footballers who face Ardoyne in the Peile B competition. Throw-in is at 11am at Glen Road.
This will be quickly followed by the Minor footballers, who play Setanta in the Dwyer Cup, again at Glen Road with a 12 noon throw-in.
The third game on Sunday is in the South Antrim Senior Football flagship competition – the Beringer Cup. We travel to Mallusk as holders and are up against O’Donnell’s, a side we will also face in the All County League this year. Throw-in for this game is 2pm
Hoping to see plenty of support at each of these games
