Hurlers start with draw in Ulster hurling league

Craobh Rua (Armagh) 1-9 Davitts 2-6The Senior hurlers came away with a draw from their opening match with Craobh Rua in Camlough last Saturday night. It felt more like a loss as it was a game we dominated, led throughout and one we should have closed out when in front. There are a lot of areas which we can work on as we prepare for our meeting with St Eunan’s of Letterkenny particulary our tackling and not giving away simple fress. This punished us severely against Craobh Rua. However, on a positive note, this was only our second outing of the season and we took some nice scores with Stephen McGivern notching 0-4, Martin Tully 0-1 and Anton McCaffrey top scoring with 2-1. We will continue to sharpen up as the competition progresses and we will be well prepared for our opening Antrim league game against Ardoyne in a few weeks time.
