No Joy in League for Senior Footballers

The senior footballers poor run of league results continued when we lost two games this week. Last Sunday we went down 6-13 to 3-7 against St Teresas at Boucher Road. We put in a spirited second half performance despite being down to fourteen men and reduced the deficit from 22 points to 9. At this stage we had Teresas on the rack but two late St Teresa’s goals put to bed any thought of a wonderous comeback.

Scorers: Collie O’Riordan 3-0, Ciaran O’Riordan 0-1, Daniel Largey 0-1, Sean McGovern 0-2, Anto McGrattan 0-2, Gerard Burns 0-1

On Wednesday night we travelled to Cliftonville to take on Ardoyne but we couldn’t repeat our Beringer Cup performance as we went down on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-7. Once again we allowed a team to build up a big advantage and despite making inroads into their lead we left ourselves open to counter attacks and were punished for any errors we made.

Scorers: Daniel Largey 1-2, Gerard Burns 0-3, Anto McGrattan 0-1, Conor Thompson 0-1.
