The U14 footballers bounced back from last week’s defeat to Gortnamona with a well deserved win over Ardoyne at Cliftonville. After ten minutes the match was evenly balanced at two points a piece with D Wilson on target for the Falls Road boys. Both teams battled hard to get the upper hand and an excellent goal finish from T McMenamin gave us the lead and the impetus to push on. Further scores from C Park 1-1 and D Wilson 0-2 extended our advantage with an Ardoyne pointed free leaving the half-time score Ardoyne 0-3 Davitts 2-5.
The second half was much tighter as Ardoyne battled hard to get back into the game. However, we matched them point for point and snuffed out any possibility of a fightback. Our second half scores came from C Slane 0-2, B Collins 0-1, D Wilson 0-1, C Park 0-1 and C Moreland 0-1 to give us a win on a 2-11 to 0-8 scoreline.
