The senior hurlers lost their opening league match at home to St Endas on Sunday afternoon. We opened up brightly and for 29 minutes of the first half outplayed and out scored St Endas 0-6 to -04 with Canice Mooney 0-5 and Peter Carleton 0-1. However a disasterous last minute of the half saw us concede two soft goals giving St Endas an undeserved lead at half time 2-4 to 0-6.
The second half saw St Endas step up the pressure and as they gained the upper hand they stretched their lead to eight. At this stage we battled back and a Gerard Burns goal and further points for Canice Mo0ney and Rory McEvoy reduced the deficit to four. However, St Endas finished the game strongly to take the win 4-11 to 1-8.
