Underage Hurling Update

U6,8,10On Tuesday evening the U6, U8 and U10 hurling teams travelled to Sarsfields to play a series of friendly games. We were spoilt by the nice weather and a feast of juvenile hurling as the teams went to battle on each pitch. The U8 and U10’s applied themselves well and didn’t lack commitment but the skill level of the paddies sides was just that bit more and they won both games. The U6s however competed on the skill level and actually were very dominant in periods winning their game.

As a club, great work is being put in at these age groups and  we are moving in the right direction. Hurling is progressing, skill levels are improving and it is great to see that we have the ability to play games against teams who have been developing hurling for a few years while we are still in our infancy.

Can we also give a special thanks to Sarsfields for the games and also to the parents for bringing the young Davitts hurlers and supporting the teams on the night, this is invaluable towards the future of our club.
